PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sowing method and a sowing device for a crop having poor tendency to form a root ball in a cell such as onion, effective for sowing in individual cells of a seedling box and enabling the mechanical transplantation of the raised seedling without using a binder. SOLUTION: The seed A of a crop having poor tendency to form a root ball in a cell 1 is sowed in a cell 1 together with a seed B of a crop easily forming a root ball in the cell 1. The sowing device is provided with sowing means S1, S2 to perform the sowing of the seed A of a crop having poor tendency to form a root ball in the cell 1 together with the seed B of a crop easily forming a root ball in the cell 1.
