A dielectric material comprising: a main component represented by the composition formula (1-alpha) {(Ba1-xCaxO)A (Ti1-yZryO2)B}.alphaL2O3, wherein 0.0005<=alpha<=0.015, 0.03<=x<=0.15, 0.01 <=y<=0.25, 1.00<=A/B<=1.02, L: at least one component selected from the group consisting of lanthanide; and subsidiary components including 0.01 to 1.0% by weight of MnO and 0.005 to 0.5% by weight of an oxide containing Al2O3 as a major component; and further 0.01 to 0.4 total % by weight of at least one oxide selected from the group of oxides of V, Nb, Ta, Mo and W, and a small size, large capacitance, multi-layer ceramic chip capacitor comprising said dielectric material.
