PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread material for a tire capable of improving the productivity of pneumatic tires having excellent braking resistance at traveling on an icy or a snowy road and capable of preventing the generation of damage in a road surface at traveling on a normal road. SOLUTION: In this tread material 1 for tire forming a tread part of a green tire, a green rubber composition 3 having 90 or more of Shore hardness at 0 deg.C and 50-98 of Shore hardness at 20 deg.C after the vulcanization is arranged in a surface area to be formed with at least an edge of a block after the vulcanization.
