PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer in which a sheet is prevented from being printed with different color tones due to run out of ink of at least any one color in the way of printing. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer 1 makes a decision whether any ink possibly runs out in the way of printing or not for each page before printing is started and when an ink having high possibility of run out is present, urges a user to make a selection whether printing is performed without using that ink or not. Consequently, unintended production of a matter printed with different color tones due to run out of ink of at least any one color in the way of printing can be prevented. Furthermore, ink of each color can be used effectively since a selection can be made between monochromatic print and two color print. |
