PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve merchandise value, smooth reaping, facilitate operations, improve the operating efficiency, simplify the constitution and reduce the cost by harvesting leaf vegetables without damaging the leaf vegetables. SOLUTION: The apparatus for harvesting the leaf vegetables such as a leek is constituted to be of four wheel traveling with a pair of driving type traveling wheels 3 and a pair of traveling wheels 44 capable of freely regulating the height and is obtained by installing a cutting blade 16 rotating around a vertical shaft in a position under the starting part of a conveying device 17 and freely vertically rotatably attached to a machine body frame 1 and providing a sliding contact unit 34 brought into sliding contact with the field surface under the cutting blade 16.
