PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas vent hole boring device for a vertical split mold which can vent the sufficient gas even in the case the front and rear parts of the mold is thick, and can bore the gas vent hole at the most suitable position in the mold even in the case the thickness of the mold is changed by the change of the characteristic of molding sand or the change of a cavity shape in the mold caused by the exchange of a pattern plate, and also, can cope with even the case of boring the gas vent hole in the high strength mold and even the case of boring the deep gas vent hole. SOLUTION: This gas vent hole boring device for the vertical split mold is characterized in that, at the lower part of the shifting carriage 5 disposed in the upper part of a mold carrying conveyor 1, a mold detector 6 with which the shifting of a shifting carriage 5 is stopped by detecting a recessed part H formed in a prescribed position on the upper end surface of the mold, and plural needles 11, 11 for boring the gas vent holes which are elevated/lowered by a rise and fall cylinder 8 are provided. |
