PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arbor protecting member hardly causing troubles of deflection and/or lodging, not causing strength degradation and not being damaged by harmful animals even when used in mountain, forest and field for a long period of time, and being lightweight and being twisted around and easily applied to trees as it is irrespectively of the girth of the trees without being cut to dimensions coinciding with the girth of the trees when applied as well, and having suitable air permeability and/or water flow properties, not negatively affecting trees and nursery stocks regarding their growth and not emitting toxic gas even by being incinerated when scrapped after applied. SOLUTION: This member is produced by folding in the form of an accordion a nonwoven fabric belt with a specified length which is prepared by stacking plural mono- or multi-filaments randomly in terms of their directionality and by mutually fusing the filaments in their contact points in such a way as to form plural creases parallel to the width direction of the nonwoven fabric. A thick yarn made of a polyolefin fiber is used as the above filament. The nonwoven fabric where a large amount of voids are formed between the filaments and air permeability is retained is produced by stacking the thick filaments randomly in terms of their directionality.
