摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coloring matter having high optical absorptivity over a wide range of wavelength region, a photoelectric conversion element using the coloring matter and a photochemical cell using the element. SOLUTION: This metal complex having a β-diketonate represented by formula (1) (wherein M denotes a group 8 metal atom; R1, R2 and R3 denote each a group or an atom selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, hydroxyl group, amino group, an alkoxy group, hydrogen atom and a halogen atom; X-1 denotes an ion selected from the group consisting of a halide ion, nitrate ion, sulfonate ion, fluoroborate ion, fluorophosphate ion and a perchlorate ion; and L1 or L2 denote each 2,2'-bipyridine group or 1,10-phenanthroline group in which the groups may be substituted with a group or an atom selected from an alkyl group, carboxyl group, sulfonic acid group, phosphonic acid group, hydroxyl group, amino group, hydrogen atom and a halogen atom), and a photoelectric conversion element and a photochemical cell using the element are provided.
