METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING MALODOROUS GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating malodorous gas capable of holding a stable irradiation intensity without contaminating a light source and capable of also enhancing decomposition efficiency. SOLUTION: Malodorous gas 3 is introduced into a photocatalytic reaction apparatus 1 hausing a photocatalyst 5 to violently stirr the photocatalyst 5 to adsorb the malodor component in the malodorous gas by the photocatalyst 5 and the photocatalyst 5 in the photocatalytic reaction apparatus 1 is irradiated with light from the light source 13 provided outside the photocatalytic reaction apparatus 1 through an optical fiber 12 and the malodor component adsorbed on the photocatalyst 5 is decomposed and removed by the oxidizing action of the photocatalyst 5 developed by the irradiation with light.
