PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding mechanism and a recorder provided with the same capable of eliminating a difference in feeding performance of recording paper sheets of different thicknesses and widths as much as possible. SOLUTION: An inclined surface 7 for separating paper sheets for guiding a front end of a recording paper sheet 3 (4) to be delivered and separating the paper sheet on a one-by-one basis is formed on a front end of a paper feed cassette 2 in the feeding direction of the paper sheet 3 (4). The paper sheet to be housed in the sheet feed cassette is housed in the center in the width direction of the sheet feed cassette. The inclined surface for separating paper sheets includes a pair of first inclined surface 7a for separating the paper sheets steeply formed on both sides in the width direction of the sheet feed cassette, and a second inclined surface 7b for separating the paper sheets formed at least between first inclined surface for separating paper sheets and having an inclination angle smaller than that of the first inclined surfaces for separating the paper sheets.
