A test tape with no error due to azimuthal head misalignment is achieved by grinding both heads 4; 8 at one time in a plane through the axis X-X and after assembly, rocking the heads by means of screws 7; such that when a high frequency sound is recorded by 8, a maximum output is played back by 4. Protractor means (not shown) may be fitted so that the azimuthal adjustment may be first zeroed and then offset a desired amount to make a so-called differential test tape. |
