PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation to select a reaping height control mode in a controller for lifting and lowering of a reaping pretreatment device 6 in a general-purpose combine harvester 1 capable of selecting the two kinds of the reaping height control modes. SOLUTION: This controller for lifting and lowering of the reaping pretreatment device 6 is composed so as to perform the changeover of control over the lifting and lowering of the reaping pretreatment device 6 based on a signal detected with a ground height sensor 25 capable of detecting the ground height of the reaping pretreatment device 6 to the control over the lifting and lowering of the reaping pretreatment device 6 based on a signal detected with a position sensor 26 capable of detecting the relative height of a traveling machine body 3 and the reaping pretreatment device 6.
