There is disclosed a method for releasably coating an article with a beneficial substance, which substance is beneficial to the article, comprising the step of directly coating the article with a coating comprising the beneficial substance and a bonding agent: and in which the bonding agent bonds the beneficial substance to the article, but permits a phased release of the beneficial substance to the article, the phased release being effected by the action of a release agent on the bonding agent. |
