An antielectrostatic moulding composition comprises a polyolefin containing 2 to 7% of a mixture of (a) a polyethylene glycol monoalkyl ether and/or a polyethylene glycol monoaralkyl ether; and (b) a compound <FORM:1104466/C3/1> wherein R3 is alkyl, alkenyl or acyl, R4 is (CyH2yO)mH or (CH2.CHOH.CH2O)nH, and R5 is R4 or H, y being 2 or 3, m from 1 to 30 and n being 1, 2 or 3. Preferred antistatic additives are: (a) heptaethylene glycol monolauryl ether and nonylphenylheptaethylene glycol; and (b) lauric diethanolamide, myristic diethanolamide and heptadecyl diethanolamine. Conventional additives may also be present, in particular stabilizers such as 2,2-thio bis (4-methyl-6-t. butyl-phenol). |
