PURPOSE:To provide an optical circuit which compensates group velocity dispersion by performing waveform shaping of an optical signal receiving distortion being propagatted on an optical fiber with dispersion. CONSTITUTION:In the circuit in which lengthy arms 4a-4c and short arms 5a-5c are connected in multiple stages by connecting lengthy parts with each other and shorter parts with each other, and asymmetric Mach-Zehnder (MZ) interferometers are connected in multiple stages, an input port is constitued of directional couplers 3a-3c, and also, the input/output port of the MZ interferometer at the final stage is formed as a loop shape optical waveguide 9, therefore, the pulse waveform of an optical pulse can be shaped remaining as light without being converted into an electrical signal when the optical pulse being propagated on the optical fiber is deformed by the characteristic of fiber. |
