PURPOSE:To facilitate the replacement of a sleeve in an efficient manner with a high degree of safety by a method wherein a sleeve for replacement and a pair of suppoters for holding a detached sleeve are provided in a sleeve replacing device of a calender roll for forming profile sheet, and the sleeve for replacement and the supporters are aligned with the axis of a replacing calender roll so that the positions thereof can be changed. CONSTITUTION:Longitudinal rails 50 extending on a floor are laid in the axial direction of a calender roll and a longitudinally traveling truck with a sleeve holder 8 is provided on the rails. The holder 8 includes a supporter 57 for holding a sleeve for replacement and an empty supporter 57 for holding a detached sleeve. And the holder 8, for example, can be inclined around a center axis 60 so that both of the supporters 57 can be alternately displaced so as to be in alignment with the axis of a replacing calender roll, and a centering element 56 is provided to align the center line C1 of the supporter 57 with the axis of the calender roll. Further a sleeve locking element 55 is provided to lock the sleeve, thereby preventing it from being disconnected. |
