An individual seating module which may include storage space also includ es coupling components which enable connection with other like modules. The coupling components are affixed to opposed end sides of the module and allow a slidab le and releasable engagement between two or more modules in side by side succession to form a bench. The modules with storage space may be used to provide temporary bench seating for members of a group at one or more desired sites and, as well, to provide storage space for the members both at and away from such sites, and during transport therebetween.
