PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission of air or hydraulic pressure controlling type is provided to smoothly shift a gear without generating shift shock and to maintain optimal RPM(Revolutions Per Minute) of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable transmission of air or hydraulic pressure control type comprises an input shaft(2) directly receiving power from an engine; a differential gear device(3); a deceleration gear device(4); air and hydraulic pressure controllers(5,6); valves(22,27a,27b) isolating input/output amount of the air and oil to control the RPM of the gear; and an output shaft(36) installed on opposition to the differential gear device to continuously shift without step. The input shaft installs the differential gear device on an end portion while being covered by the deceleration gear device. Thereby, the continuously variable transmission is installed on variable vehicles by increasing or decreasing amount or size of the deceleration gear device.
