APPARATUS FOR FORMING DOWNLINK BEAM IN BASE STATION SMART ANTENNA SYSTEM BY LINEAR PREDICTION METHOD

PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming a downlink beam in a base station smart antenna system by a linear prediction method is provided to accurately transmit and receive a signal by preventing directional error in forming the downlink beam and unnecessary interference of a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A decimator(102) down-samples a weight for extracting positional information of a mobile station which is a weight formed in an uplink beam forming process. Weight calculation parts(104,106,107) perform adaptive process operation for calculating weight value by predicting down sampled value to be input next by using the down sampled value input up to now. A repeater(109) repeats the predicted down sampled weight value appropriate for data rate of a forward traffic channel signal to be retransmitted. A control program controls each device.
