PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator which can be composed to be simple and compact, and which will not cause problems of noise and cleanness, and a drive system using that. SOLUTION: This actuator 2 for driving an actuation part is provided with a cylinder 12 containing a piston 11 to be slidable, cooling-cum-power transmitting fluid 14 enclosed in a chamber 13 parted by the piston 11 of the cylinder 12, shape memory alloy 15 disposed in the chamber 13 to be contracted as temperature rises for sliding the piston 11, a heating means to heat the shape memory alloy 15, and a power transmitting passage 3 connecting the chamber 13 to the actuation part.
