PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the A/D converter of multiple bits with less power consumption. SOLUTION: An A/D converter is provided with chopper comparators CP comparing the size of an inputted analog signal Ain with a reference signal Vref and outputting a result C0 by a number corresponding to the number of the bits of digital output. At least the output of a part of the chopper comparator is fixed by adjusting it to the output of a comparator whose reference voltage is higher than that of the pertinent comparator and whose order is higher by one or adjusting it to the output of a comparator whose reference voltage is lower than that of the pertinent comparator and whose order is lower by one.
