PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female side terminal metal fitting in which a smooth insertion operation between a tab part of male side terminal metal fitting can be carried out and a sufficient contact load application can be obtained. SOLUTION: At the front of female side terminal metal fitting 1, a square tubular shaped coupling part 3 is installed. In the inside of coupling part 3, an elastic contact piece 6 that is possible to elastically contact to a tab part 2A is extendingly installed. After the elastic contact piece 6 has been extendingly installed from the front side to the rear side, a free end 6A is smoothly folded backward, and a side face is made nearly U-shaped as a whole. Further, the free end 6A is further folded slightly downward, and contacts with a counterpart wall face 3B. When the tab part 2A is inserted into the coupling part 3, in addition to an elastic force of the elastic contact piece 6, a proper contact load application can be obtained because a supporting force by which the counterpart wall face 3B supports the free end 6A acts.
