PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable radio equipment capable of reducing the area inside a case and improving antenna characteristics even using a built-in antenna such as a planar antenna. SOLUTION: A circuit board 4 is arranged inside an upper case 1 and a lower case 2 of a housing, and a planar antenna 3 is mounted on the circuit board 4. The antenna 3 is subjected to power feeding and also has an antenna size (area) of a resonance frequency higher than the frequency of transmission and reception. A non-powered element 5 is attached to the outside face of the case 1 made to face the antenna 3. The element 5 is formed by using conductive material in an area larger than that of the antenna 3.
