PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light condensing optical system capable of condensing light with a high NA, and, without a loss. SOLUTION: In a transparent substrate with a 1st surface and a 2nd surface; one is convex, the other is planar, a reflection film with an opening is arranged on the 1st surface and a cholesteric liquid crystal film is arranged on the 2nd surface. In one usage, circular polarized divergent light is made incident on the opening of the reflection film, then, successively transmitted through the cholesteric liquid crystal film and the reflection film so as to be emitted in the shape of collimated light. In another usage, the circular polarized collimated light is transmitted through the cholesteric liquid crystal film, and then, successively reflected by the reflection film and the cholesteric film, then, emitted through the opening of the reflection film in the shape of convergent light. As for another constitution, a 1/4 wavelength film and a linear polarized light selecting reflection film are arranged in place of the cholesteric liquid crystal film. |
