The shower installation has a spray head (1) and its retainer (2), a guide rail (3) for the retainer, a water-operated drive for movement of the retainer along the guide rail and a water feed conduit (4) to the spray head. The drive comprises a hydraulic motor with a water-operated rotor, the motor being fitted in the water feed conduit before the spray head. The spray head retainer incorporates a guide carriage (5), to which a motor part (6) is releasably attached. The motor part is fitted with a connecting component (7) for the spray head and an inlet connection (13) for union with the water feed conduit.
