PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-linear voltage resistor with great non-linearity voltage and large varistor voltage. SOLUTION: This non-linear voltage resistor is made of zinc oxide by adding and sintering at least bismuth oxide, antimony oxide, rare earth oxide of 0.095 nm ionic radius or less and silicon oxide. The non-linear voltage resistor contains zinc oxide grains, zinc silicate grains and grains consisting of zinc, bismuth, antimony and rare earth oxide. In this resistor silicon oxide is contained as the primary component in the form of superfine particle powder and the rare earth oxide or both the rare earth oxide and the bismuth oxide are added and subject to sintering. |
