<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message-authenticating device capable of inspecting whether any illegality has been generated over the whole message, without disconnection of the chain of message authenticators, even when one packet loss occurs. SOLUTION: The i-th packet Pi is formed of Pi=Mi|hi1|hi2|Hi(0<=i). Here, Mi indicates the message of the packet Pi, hi1 indicates chain with the hash of one packet behind, hi2 indicate chain with the hash of two packets behind, Hi indicates a new hashed value with the chains hi1 and hi2 as inputs, and '|'indicates the connection of data. The packet Pi is constituted in this way, even if a previous packet Pi-1 is lost, the chain hi2 with the hashing of two packets behind can be made valid, and the chain of message authenticators can be linked without being disconnected.</p> |
