PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger for an elevator battery with improved safety in checking and maintenance. SOLUTION: Fixed side power supply devices 4, 5 connected to a fixed side power source 6 have power supply terminals 4c, 5c, and conductive rollers 4b, 5b of fixed side power supply devices contacted electrically with the terminals 4c, 5c at ends of movably mounted levers 4d, 5d. The devices 4, 5 also have current collectors 3b, 3c of moving side power receiving parts of a moving side power receiving unit 3, to give a rotary force in the counterclockwise direction for forming a disconnector for disconnecting contacts of the levers 4b, 5d with the terminals 4c, 5c by springs 4i, 5i and to contact the rollers 4b, 5b, only when a cage 1a of a moving element is disposed at a prescribed position.
