PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water sandbag using a hygroscopic polymer, capable of being installed quickly and reliably without water leakage at a danger point of a flood or the like, and being removed easily in a short time even in a city or the like where the soil for a barricade is hardly secured. SOLUTION: This water sandbag 10 using the hygroscopic polymer is provided with a water-permeable cover 11 covering the whole, a hygroscopic body 12 having the hygroscopic polymer held in the water-permeable cover 11, a bag body 13 arranged adjacent to the hygroscopic body 12, storing a gel decomposition accelerator releasing the water fixed to the hygroscopic polymer in a gelatinized state, and covered with a water-nonpermeable film, and a bag body rupture mechanism rupturing the water-nonpermeable film of the bag body 13 to discharge the gel decomposition accelerator in it to the hygroscopic body 12 in the water-permeable cover 11.
