PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color television receiver that has a function of optimally controlling a luminance and a color temperature in matching with a visual characteristics corresponding to the age a television viewer. SOLUTION: The color television receiver is characterized in provision of means 2, 3 that enter the age or era of the television viewer and of a means 5 that continuously variable-controls a level of a video signal of 3 RGB primary colors within a prescribed wavelength range or that controls the level to be a prescribed level within the prescribed wavelength range in order to compensate a spectral visible sensitivity characteristics due to the entered age or era.
