PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transfer hanging scaffold which facilitates movement therethrough even if a workplace is on a slope as in the case of carrying out maintenance work of a sharply inclined roof, is good in workability, dispenses with laying of rails, is simple in construction, and occupies only a small erection space, and to obtain a method for moving on the hanging scaffolding. SOLUTION: A hanging member such as a first wire 6a... has its lower end fixed to a winch 2a... which is a first winding device arranged on a working scaffold 1, and an upper end of the hanging member is engaged with a structural member such as a beam 10d... of a building skeleton, to thereby hang down the working scaffold 1 from the structural member. A hanging member such as a second wire 6b... has its lower end fixed to a second winch 2b... arranged in parallel with the first winch 2a..., and an upper end of the hanging member is engaged with a structural member at a location different from the engaging location of the first wire 6a.... Thereafter, the first wire 6a... is wound off from the first winch 2a... to be expanded and relaxed, and then the working scaffold 1 is hung down by means of the second wire 6b..., whereby movement therethrough is enabled.
