PURPOSE: Provided are a poly(phthalocyanine)imide or poly(phthalocyanine)carboxylic acid or its ester, which has excellent solubility to organic solvent and mechanical property, and high sensitivity to near-infrared and visible light, a method for producing the same, a polymer composition using the same, and a method for producing a thin film of phthalocyanine polymer. CONSTITUTION: The poly(phthalocyanine) polymer is selected from the group consisting of poly(phthalocyanine)imide polymer of formula 1 and poly(phthalocyanine)carboxylic acid polymer of formula 2 or its ester. In the formulae 1 and 2, R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, linear or branched C1-C20 alkyl or alkoxyl group which may be substituted, linear or branched C1-C20 alkyl or alkoxyl group which may be substituted and has 1-10 oxygen atom(s) in chain, or phenyl or phenoxy group which may be substituted(the substituents are 1-5 of C1-C6 alkyl or alkoxyl group), R3 and R4 are independently hydrogen, linear or branched C1-C20 alkyl or alkoxyl group which may be substituted, linear or branched C1-C20 alkyl group which may be substituted and has 1-10 oxygen atom(s) in chain, or phenyl group which may be substituted(the substituents are 1-5 of C1-C6 alkyl or alkoxyl group), X and Y are independently single bond, -O-, -S-, >CO, >SO2, >C(CF3)2, >CR12, >NH or >NR1, or two phenyl rings of the tetracarboxylic anhydride together may form naphthyl ring, or either of X or Y may form a biphenyl structure connected with single bond, each of p, q and r is an integer of 0 or more, p + q+ r is an integer of 1 or more, W is hydrogen or signal M(wherein M is divalent metal, trivalent or quaternary, substituted metal or metal oxide radical).
