PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, having an image reading function capable of performing density correction, even when forming an image on the basis of data acquired from means other than an image reader, and to provide a control method therefor. SOLUTION: A printer controller 2103 is provided with a PG part 3112 which generates a prescribed density pattern, and this pattern is transmitted to an engine control part 2002 via an output I/F to obtain a print result. Correction data, representing the difference between the result obtained by reading this print result and preliminarily determined prescribed characteristics, is received from a reader controller via a serial communication controller 3111. Correction data is stored in a data correction processing part 3108, and hereafter, it is used for correction processing of printing data received via an input I/F. |
