PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a silver halide photographic sensitive material using a developing solution for a silver halide photographic sensitive material less liable to affect the human body, ensuring an improved silver tone and less liable to cause the rise of fog even after long-term use. SOLUTION: In the processing method, a silver halide photographic sensitive material having a hydrophilic colloidal layer on at least one side of the support and also having a layer containing compounds of formulae 1-4 (where W is an electron withdrawing group; D is an electron donative group; and H is a hydrogen atom) is processed with a developing solution containing reductones.
