PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot dip galvanized steel sheet excellent in adhesion for plating at the time of press forming, continuous spot weldability and plating appearance or a hot dip galvanized steel sheet moreover excellent in slidability at the time of press forming in additon to the same and to provide a method for producing the hot dip galvanized steel sheets. SOLUTION: In a hot dip galvanized steel sheet excellent in adhesion for plating and weldability, the content of Fe in a plating film is controlled to <=0.70%, Pb to <=0.025%, Sb to <=0.025%, and Al to 0.20 to 0.50%, moreover, a hot dip galvanized steel sheet excellent in adhesion for plating, weldability and press formability has the above plating film whose surface has surface roughness in which the arithmetic average roughness is >=1.0μm by Ra, and also, the number of crests per 25.4 mm by length in the average line of a roughness curve, i.e., PPI is 80 to 250 pieces, and further, this method for producing hot dip galvanized steel sheets uses them.
