SEALING METHOD OF ROCKER COVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a sweating phenomenon of a sealing material provided between a rocker cover and a cylinder block. SOLUTION: A sealing material composition comprises (A) an organo- polysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms in one molecule; (B) an organo-hydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms in one molecule; (C) a predetermined amount of fumed silica based on the component (A) or (B); and (D) a predetermined amount of inorganic filler based on the component (A) or (B). In a sealing method, a rocker cover and a cylinder block are press-contacted such that a hardness of the sealing material is 60-80 according to a type A durometer of JIS K 6253 and a compression ratio is 20-40%.
