PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a manufacturing method for alternating-current generators with which alternating-current generators with higher degrees of alignment at coil end can be manufactured with ease. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for alternating-current generators includes a process, in which a strand 30 is folded so as to provide a straight portion 30b to be fit into a slot 36a and thus a winding assembly is formed, a process in which plate-like magnetic members with the slots 36a formed therein are laminated to form an elementary iron core 36, a process in which the winding assembly is placed on the elementary iron core 36 and pressure is applied, so that the straight portions 30b are fit into the slots 36a, and a process in which the elementary iron core 36 is bent into a cylindrical shape and both the end faces of the elementary iron core 36 are brought into contact with each other and welded together to form a stator core 15.
