PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection coil winding device capable of increasing the design freedom of the deflection coil winding distribution and improving the convergence characteristic and deflection distortion characteristic. SOLUTION: A horizontal deflection coil 2 is formed by winding wires round the winding space between a convex coil former 51 and a concave coil former 52. The convex coil former 51 is equipped with split pins 501 and the concave coil former 52 is equipped with split pins 502. The split pins 501 are inserted into the winding space nearly in parallel with the tube axis and the split pins 502 are inserted into the winding space approximately in the direction perpendicular to the side faces 2C. In dividing the horizontal deflection coil 2 into a plural sections, the split pins 501, 502 are inserted into the winding space from the alternately different directions to form at least 3 adjacent sections at a part thereof.
