PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna for a portable telephone set having a fashionable incoming report means full of originality. SOLUTION: A synchronizing circuit for synchronization with the transmit/ receive carrier wave of the portable telephone set and a liquid crystal display means driven by the output of the synchronizing circuit are mounted at the tip of an antenna rod fitting to the portable telephone set. A printed board 4 projected at the tip of the antenna rod 2 of the portable telephone set 1 is provided with a coil 5 to be electromagnetically coupled with the transmit/ receive carrier wave of the set 1, a liquid crystal panel 7 connected to it via a diode 6 and an expressing means 8 for transmitting desired display information to the panel 7. When the phone set 1 comes in the transmit/receive state, a character or an illustration is displayed on the panel 7 to report the receiving state.
