Transparent thermoplastic composition comprises (a) transparent thermoplastic material (A) consisting of (meth)acrylic (co)polymer; and (b) polytetrafluoroethylene light-diffusing particles. Composition comprises: (a) transparent thermoplastic material (A) consisting of (meth)acrylic(co)polymer; and (b) light -diffusing particles (B) (5-2000, preferably 2-10 ppm, per weight). The light-diffusing particles (B) consist either solely of poly- tetrafluoroethylene particles (PTFE) particles or a mixture of PTFE particles and particles made of mineral (titanium dioxide, barium sulfate or zinc oxide) and/or organic substance (based on crosslinked polystyrene). The particles (B) have average size 0.5-200 microns and a refractive index different from that of transparent material (A) by at least /! 0.05. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a light-diffusing shaped article made from the composition of the claim by extrusion, injection or compression molding or by casting; and (2) use of these articles as planes in light display systems and flat-panel light display screens.
