PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing failure such as the deviation of image density and the adhesion of carrier by preventing the deviation of developer stored in a developer storing part. SOLUTION: This developing device is equipped with a developer carrier 4 carrying two-component developer, a 1st regulating member 6 regulating the amount of the developer 3 and having a gap between the developer carrier 4 and the member 6, a developer storing chamber 7 storing the developer 3 scraped from the member 6, and a toner hopper 8 for supplying toner, and is provided with a 2nd developer regulating member 10 arranged on an upstream side in the carrying direction of the developer 3 on the developer carrier 4 from the member 6 and having a gap between the carrier 4 and the member 10. In the device, the contact state of the developer 3 with the toner is changed according to the change of toner concentration on the developer carrier 4, so that the toner take-in state of the developer 3 on the developer carrier 4 is changed. As for the shape of the surface of the member 10 opposed to the developer carrier 4, the width of the member 10 in the peripheral direction of the developer carrier is >=3 mm, and the member 10 has a curved surface where the downstream end in the rotating direction of the developer carrier is linear and the upstream end thereof is arched. |
