PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech recording and reproducing device which solves the problem caused by the combination of VQ and analog flash memory and does not decrease a coding efficiency. SOLUTION: Code patterns are registered in a code book storage part 604 beforehand by sorting them in order of power, and a fixed parameter presenting a size of code pattern selection range (a value recordable by an analog flash memory 603 or less) and a fluctuation parameter presenting an offset value from the code book starting end in the selection range are prepared. When waveform is selected, it is selected from the code patterns in the present selection range, and this selection range is decided by being shifted to the optimal position by sequentially updating the offset value based on the code number that is a result of coding the preceding frame. |
