<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mean value transmission coding/decoding method utilizing self-similarity by which an excellent image can be reproduced from a non- statistical image and a code book(CB) with high versatility can be designed and to provide its device. SOLUTION: The coding device is provided with a block division means 1 that divides a received image into image blocks, a CB generating means 2 that generates a code book(CB) on the basis of an output from the means 1, a CB 3 that stores the CB generated by the CB generating means in a read/ write free way, a CB retrieval means 4 that retrieves the most similar pattern block from the CB 3 on the basis of the image block, and a coding means 5 that codes an output of the CB retrieval means 4 and an output of the CB. The decoding device consists of a decoding means 6 that decodes pattern block information from a received signal and a block reproduction means 9 that segments a pattern block from a CB 8 on the basis of information with respect to the pattern block of the output of the decoding means 6 and pastes the segmented pattern block to an original image block as a new image block.</p> |
