PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly accommodate a change in building application or rework for earthquake resistant performance. SOLUTION: A mounting structure for vibration damping comprises a pair of opposed columns 2, 2 and a pair of opposed beams 3, 3 for encircling a structural plane 1 in which earthquake-resistant structural elements including studs, walls and braces and vibration damping damper elements including hysteretic damping type dampers are arranged, and mounting steel plates 4 installed on the columns 2, 2 and the beams 3, 3. The mounting steel plates 4 are installed throughout the lengths of the columns 2, 2 and the beams 3, 3 in the structure plane 1 to continuously encircle the structure plane 1 as a whole.
