PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate an articulation state of a speaker from speech and present it in a comprehensible form. SOLUTION: A method for displaying an estimated articulation state comprises a step 90 for extracting an acoustic parameter, a step 96 for setting an initial articulation target based on the parameter, and a step 98 for estimating the articulation state of the utterance organs based on the articulation target and parameter. The step 98 comprises a step 102 for estimating an articulation state corresponding to a speech signal by using a physiological three- dimensional articulation model, a step 104 for generating a synthesized speech signal based on the estimated articulation state, and a step 94 for updating the articulation target so that the parameters extracted from the synthesized speech signal come adjacent to the parameter extracted from the speech signal. This method comprises further a step 108 for performing processing of displaying an articulation shape of an articulation organ on a display device obtained by driving the physiological three-dimensional articulation model according to the articulation target.
