PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which has high energy efficiency and high practical use. SOLUTION: This linear motor is provided with a mover 12 and a stator 11, where one of the mover 12 or the stator 11 involves a plurality of magnets 12a-12d, consisting of a plurality of basic masters, each of which has a working surface on its one end opposed to the other for attraction are disposed continuously so as to be brought into magnetic contact with each other. The other is provided with unit attraction parts 16a-16i, which are disposed to oppose the working surfaces respectively, and consist of a plurality of magnetic bodies attracted by working force. The basic factor is provided with an electromagnet part and permanent magnets, disposed on both sides thereof through a contact surface, and the working surface and the contact surface are mode to oppose each other via the permanent magnet.
