The method of irrigation of crops uses an irrigation carriage (9) suspended from a rail (4). The amount of liquid fed to the irrigation spray head (7) is determined by the number of passes of the carriage. The carriage can be connected to a flexible hose (7) to feed the liquid to the carriage. The hose is suspended by intermediate carriages with a C-shaped cross section. The carriages have lateral guide rollers for low friction movement. A pressure sensor and valve prevent spillage of irrigation fluid.
