PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a water dispersion of pigment- containing polymeric particles having water resistance which does not use an organic solvent in the dispersion step and has good working efficiency and does not give slippage, or the like, to prints, to prepare a water dispersion of pigment-containing polymer particles obtained by the method, and to produce a water base ink containing the water dispersion. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a water dispersion of pigment- containing polymeric particles has (A) a step of removing the organic solvent from (I) a mixture containing an organic solvent solution of a polymer, water and, if necessary, a neutralizer, and then (B) a step of subjecting the desolvated product to dispersion treatment, and comprises adding a pigment to the mixture (I) or the desolvated product. |
