PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a blue-colored luminescent element (material) which may efficiently emit light with a high brightness at a low voltage drive, shows an excellent stability at repetitive use and has an excellent color purity. SOLUTION: A benzimidazole derivative of formula (I) (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen atom, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; L is a linking group; R1 and R2, R1 and L, and R2 and L may be linked to each other to form a ring if possible; R4, R5, R6 and R7 are each hydrogen atom or a substituent; and each of R3-R7 may be linked to R1-R7 or L to form a ring if possible) is used. |
