PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver facilitating broadcast reception even when reception places are changed. SOLUTION: In this broadcast receiver shifting reception frequency in a preliminarily defined frequency interval until preliminarily defined receiving electric field strength is reached on the basis of a shift instruction to a reception frequency having a good receiving state, a reception frequency received just before the shift instruction is stored (step S1), whether a receiving state is equal to or greater than the receiving electric field strength of a first reference is subsequently checked each time the received frequency is subjected to shifting of preliminarily defined frequency interval (steps S3, S4 and S5), whether the reception frequency is the stored reception frequency when the receiving state does not reach the receiving electric field strength of the first reference is checked (step S6), and reception is made at a frequency which is stored at a field strength being equal to or greater than the relieved receiving electric field strength of a second reference when the reception frequency is the stored reception frequency in the checking (step S7).
